Lady Hawks Secure First Wins of Season During Weekend Double Dual

The SUNY Rockland Community College Lady Hawks volleyball team celebrated their first two victories of the season over Bronx and Hostos Commiunity College's, marking the first collegiate wins for first-year head coach Joan Shurman. After a challenging start with three losses, the Lady Hawks rebounded with strong performances, gaining momentum and confidence as they look ahead.
"We've been working hard on our communication and consistency, and it's really starting to show," said Coach Joan Shurman. "These wins are a huge step for us. The team has a lot of potential, and I'm proud of how they came together after a tough start."
Athletic Director Ed Bajor expressed his pride in the team's early success. "Coach Shurman has done an incredible job in shaping this team. These wins are a testament to her leadership and the determination of our student-athletes. We're looking forward to more exciting moments this season," said Bajor.
The Lady Hawks will aim to build on their momentum as they prepare for the upcoming matches this week against Dutchess Community College and Orange Community College.
