Men’s Basketball Team Qualifies for NJCAA East District B Championship
Suffern, N.Y. – The Rockland Community College men's basketball team has qualified for the NJCAA East District B Championship after finishing as runner-up in the Region 15 Tournament this past weekend. The Hawks fell to SUNY Orange in a tightly contested championship game on Sunday, 84-82. With the runner-up finish, Rockland secured its place in the East District B Championship game.
Rockland will face Monroe Community College on Saturday, March 7th at 3:30 p.m. The winner advances to the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament in Danville, Illinois, hosted by Danville Area Community College.

The Hawks advanced to the championship game with a strong semifinal performance.

March 1 – Region 15 Championship Game
In Sunday's 84-82 battle against SUNY Orange, Rockland battled until the final possession.

Sam Acevedo contributed 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in the championship contest.

Jayden Harrington delivered a key offensive performance off the bench with 17 points, along with 5 rebounds, helping keep the Hawks within striking distance throughout the game.
For their consistent high-level play throughout the tournament, Jaden Chavis and Sam Acevedo were named to the Region 15 All-Tournament Team.
Looking Ahead
With their qualification secured, the Hawks now turn their focus to Monroe Community College in the East District B Championship. A victory would send Rockland to the national stage at the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament — a significant milestone for the program.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th. The game will take place at SUNY Orange in Middletown, New York.
