New Look RCC Men's Basketball Team Ready For Season Opener
The RCC Men's Basketball program has a whole new look this year, and we're not just talking about the new uniforms. With a majority of 2021-2022 team graduating or transfering after last season, This years squad has just one returning player for his sophomore season, Daniel Jean-Baptiste (Ramapo High School, Spring Valley, NY). In just his 2nd year at the helm, Head Coach Brian Sondey has brought in talent both locally and beyond in hopes to bring a Region XV Championship back to Rockland, a feat that hasn't been accomplished since 2009. In total, the Hawks have added 18 new student-athletes to the program. Residents of Rockland County will be familiar with some of this years local players which include freshman Guard, Adrian Branch (Nyack High School) and 1st year Foward Colin Harrington (Albertus Magnus High School). Coach Sondey and his staff were able to add a trio from the 2022 Class AA State Champion Mount Vernon Knights; Jayden Austin (Shooting Guard) and Power Forwards Leon Simon and Manny Barkor. Please check out our roster for a full list of players and high schools.
The Hawks will open their 30-game schedule on Tuesday, November 1st against the Dutchess Falcons at 7:00pm in the Rockland Community College Fieldhouse. Please visit us at RCChawks.com throughout the season and follow us on Twitter and Instagram @RCChawks for game updates and results.
