Nova leads RCC in blowout win over Ulster
Josendy Nova scored 26 points on Tuesday night to lead the Hawks to a much needed conference win over the Ulster Senators, 79-49. Coming into the night the Hawks had lost 3 consecutive games, 2 of which were to Westchester and Orange Community Colleges. Last Monday Rockland lost to 4-year Bryant & Stratton College after leading for the majority of the game. Their fortune would change on Tuesday night in a big way. Rockland led the entire game and expanded on a 19 point advantage at halftime to go on to win by 30 points. Rockland also had big contributions from Jorge Mercado (20 points), Tahir Alexandre (10 points) and Xavier Kistoo-Miles (9 points). RCC will now turn its attention to its next game on Thursday night against Sullivan Community College. Currently ranked #6 in the nation, the Generals will look to rebound off of a conference loss to Orange Community College on Tuesday night. Thursday's game will take place at Sullivan with the tip-off scheduled for 6:00pm.
