Baseball team to begin 2026 Campaign Down South
Suffern, NY – The Rockland Community College Hawks baseball team will officially begin the 2026 season on Sunday, March 8th, when they face Henry Ford College at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EDT.
The Hawks enter the new campaign with high expectations after capturing the 2025 Region 15 Championship. Rockland will look to build on that success and make another deep postseason run this spring.
Season-Opening Trip
During their annual Myrtle Beach swing, the Hawks will take on several competitive programs. In addition to opening against Henry Ford College on March 8, Rockland will face Penn State DuBois later that evening. The team continues play on March 9 against Finger Lakes Community College and Penn State Schuylkill. The trip wraps up March 10 with games against Delaware Technical Community College and a second matchup with Henry Ford College.
Key Early-Season Matchups
Following their return north, the Hawks will travel to Raritan Valley Community College for a doubleheader on March 15 and host County College of Morris on March 25. Additional non-region contests include matchups with Monroe University, SUNY Adirondack, and University of Connecticut at Avery Point.
Region Play and Important Dates
Region 15 play begins on April 9 with a road game at Westchester Community College. The Hawks will also face conference opponents including Orange County Community College, and Ulster County Community College.
A highlight of the 2026 schedule is the return of Ulster County Community College to competition. The Hawks will host Ulster on April 23 and April 24 before traveling to Ulster for a doubleheader on April 25.
The Region 15 Tournament is set to begin May 7 and conclude May 9. The tournament will be hosted by Ulster County Community College at Cantine Field in Saugerties. The top two teams in the region will qualify for the East District Tournament, raising the stakes throughout the regular season.
With a championship foundation in place and another challenging schedule ahead, the Hawks look poised to compete for back-to-back Region 15 titles in 2026.
